Week 19 Review
Writing: Students considered the perspectives of all people involved in the event they're writing about. In Language Skills, they practiced identifying and using personification and simile.
Social Studies: Students learned the causes of World War I.
Reading: Students reviewed main idea, key details, and summarizing. They worked on their second book club responses.
Week 20 Preview
Writing: In Language Skills, students will identify and use description to help with visualization. They will find structure for their informational essays.
Social Studies: Students will learn about the major events in World War I, including two that led to the U.S.'s involvement.
Reading: Students will complete their third book club response. We will review strategies for finding the meaning of unfamiliar words and vocabulary.
