-Please continue to send in Rock Eagle permission forms and funds! These were sent home in November. Thanks!
-Middle School Mindset is Thursday, January 30, at 6 p.m. at Campbell Middle School.
-Friday, February 7, is KSE's Spirit Day.
-Monterrey is hosting a Spirit Night on Friday, February 7, from 5 - 9 p.m.
-Rev Coffee is hosting a Spirit Morning on Saturday, February 8, from 7 a.m. to noon.
-The Father/Daughter Sweetheart Skate is Sunday, February 9.
-Third quarter progress reports go home Wednesday, February 12.
-The 5th grade photo will be taken Thursday, February 13. All students in the fifth grade will gather on the stage in the cafeteria for a photo for the yearbook.
-To celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14, students may bring in small cards/treats to pass out to their classmates. Students may also create a "mailbox" to hold their Valentines at home. Please make sure the "mailbox" is about the size of a shoe box. Thanks!
-February 17 - 21 is Winter Break.
-Milestones are far in the future, but here are the dates for the fifth grade tests:
ELA: April 14, 15, 16
Science: April 20
Math: April 27, 28
Social Studies: April 29
Week 20 Review
Writing: In Language Skills, students practice visualization using similes and descriptive language.
Social Studies: Students learned about the types of warfare using in WWI. They also learned about U.S. involvement in the war, President Woodrow Wilson, and the League of Nations.
Reading: Students reviewed vocabulary of frequently used words. They also began annotating their texts.
Week 21 Preview
Writing: Students will finish editing their westward expansion informational essays. They will practice writing complex sentences.
Social Studies: Students will learn about the Harlem Renaissance and the Jazz Age.
Reading: Students will identify connections and relationships between different topics in their texts. They will begin to analyze those connections. They will continue to review their vocabulary words and will have a quiz on Friday.
