-Middle School Mindset is Thursday, January 31, 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Campbell Middle School.
-Fifth grade yearbook ads are due Friday, January 31.
-Campbell High School is offering a Me You See conference on Saturday, Feb. 1, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. This covers many issues facing youth today. Register online beforehand if you'd like to participate.
-February's KSE Spirit Day is Friday, February 7.
-Monterrey is hosting a Spirit Night Friday, February 7, 5 - 9 p.m.
-Rev Coffee is hosting a Spirit Morning Saturday, February 8, 7 a.m. - noon.
-The Father/Daughter Sweetheart Skate is Sunday, February 9.
-Third quarter progress reports go home Wednesday, February 12.
-The 5th grade photo is Thursday, February 13.
-We will have a class Valentine exchange. If your child would like to create a "mailbox" for this event, please make sure it is no larger than a shoe box. We have 24 students in our class.
-Winter Break is February 17 - 21.
Week 21 Review
Writing: Students learned and practiced writing complex sentences. They drafted their introductions, conclusions, and text features for their informational essays.
Social Studies: Students analyzed a primary source photograph from World War I. Students learned about the Harlem Renaissance.
Reading: Students learned how to identify and analyze relationships between concepts in nonfiction texts.
Week 22 Preview
Writing: Students will identify compound predicates and possessive pronouns. Students will finalize their informational essays. They will compare their essay to grade-level examples, fill out a checklist, and conference with me before turning in their final drafts.
Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about the Harlem Renaissance as well as the Jazz Age.
Reading: Students will practice identifying and analyzing relationships between concepts, using their book club texts.
