Week 22 Review

Writing: Students identified possessive pronouns and compound predicates. They wrote a paragraph from Jackie Robinson's perspective. We learned about him on his birthday and decorated our door in his honor for Black History Month.

Social Studies: Students learned more about Louis Armstrong and the Jazz Age, Harlem Renaissance art, and the rise of popularity in baseball with Babe Ruth.

Reading: Students continued to practice and then took an assessment on relationships between concepts in nonfiction texts.

Week 23 Preview

Writing: Students will compare their writing to peer and mentor texts. They will conference with me and check their piece using a checklist before turning it in. Students will practice identifying adverbs and using quotation marks.

Social Studies: Students will learn about Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford. They will receive their study guide for the upcoming Touchstone on World War I and the Roaring '20s. I'm not sure of the exact date yet - please be sure to check your child's agenda!

Reading: Students will begin learning the importance of using multiple accounts of the same topic.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Please let me know if you have any questions.
