-Please turn in the Rock Eagle permission form and funds as soon as possible. These are due on March 13! Thanks! Selected chaperones will be notified March 11.
-Please read and sign your child's agenda nightly for the most up-to-date information on what children can be reviewing at home.
-This week is Read Across America Week, and we will be celebrating with a series of dress-up days:
Monday: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (wear red and blue)
Tuesday: Fox in Socks (wear crazy socks)
Wednesday: Green Eggs and Ham (wear green)
Thursday: Thing One and Thing Two (dress like a twin)
Friday: Cat in the Hat (wear your favorite hat - this is also KSE Spirit Day!)
-Friday, March 6, is the deadline to order 5th grade signs from PTA.
-Our tour of Griffin Middle School is Monday, March 9, 9:15 - 11:15 a.m. Our lunch time will be later on this day.
-Wednesday, March 11, is early release. Dismissal will be two hours early.
-Griffin Middle School will host a Rising 6th Grade Information Night on Thursday, March 12, 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. Meet in the Griffin cafeteria.
-Sparkles will host a Spirit Night on Thursday, March 12, 5 - 9 p.m.
-Friday, March 13, is the end of the third quarter.
-Rev Coffee will host a Spirit Morning on Saturday, March 14, 7 a.m. - noon.
-Author Shanda McCloskey will visit Wednesday, March 18.
-STEM Night is Thursday, March 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the K-2 campus. Please see the email attachment for more details.
-Third quarter report cards go home Friday, March 20.
-St. Angelo's Pizza will host a Spirit Day on Sunday, March 22.
-Our fifth grade trip to Rock Eagle is March 25 - 27!
Week 25 Review
Writing: Students continued to practice complex sentences. They analyzed evidence in their argument pieces.
Social Studies: Students learned about Hoovervilles, soup kitchens, and the Dust Bowl.
Reading: Students learned new vocabulary words and compared and contrasted perspectives in their book club books.
Week 26 Preview
Writing: Students will review compound sentences and learn relative pronouns. They will set argument writing goals and continue their drafts for the purpose of a debate.
Social Studies: Students will learn about FDR's New Deal and complete a review project on the Great Depression.
Reading: Students will compare and contrast perspectives of different authors on the same topic.
